Almost Naked:

A Tantric Date Night for Queer Men

Presented by Finn Deerhart & Sam Sebastian, w/ Assistant, Jason Lally

——————————————————————————————————————————

Almost Naked is a playful, group exploration of intimate connection for anybody identifying as a man—gay, bi, pan, trans, queer, and hetero-fluid. It is for couples or singles: come with other(s) or solo. It is a facilitated event within a co-created container that we will form with YOU. Learn embodied exercises to help you tap into your own wisdom and capacity. This event will NOT include full nudity, but you can work fully clothed and/or in underwear that covers both front and back (no jockstraps or exposure of anus/genitals). You will be able to work with multiple others throughout the evening, sharing intentional, intimate touch with others. Learn and practice communicating boundaries and consent via various modalities of touch. No prior experience is necessary, just an open heart.

Why We’ve Created Almost Naked

For many men, sexuality has been freighted with heavy cultural and personal expectations; beneath the weight of these, we struggle to show up fully as ourselves. We may long for deep connection without knowing how to create the necessary conditions in our bodies that would allow us to receive attention and express ourselves more freely. There is a point for many men at which every sexual experience becomes a referendum on manhood—how well or how poorly we’ve met the arbitrary standards of our world.

To break free and truly connect, we have to cultivate our own inner senses of trust, boundaries, authentic desire, and presence—an ongoing journey of discovery. It requires slowing down; taking a closer look at what already lives within you. In this event, we will present techniques and games to help you grow skills, express desire, and deepen connection. And exploring alongside other men can offer valuable insights and new possibilities without pressure to hook up or perform.

Almost Naked is founded upon our beliefs that:

  • Nourishing touch is a cornerstone of connection, whether sexual or nonsexual.

  • We have many ways to acquire sex, itself. However, our needs for touch and connection range widely from the explicitly erotic to gentle and nurturing. We believe there is a powerful need in the queer community to share this entire spectrum of touch—not just sex as a means of connection.

What to expect

Doors open at 6:30 pm and close at 7 pm sharp! We’ll have an opening circle to create our container and set agreements. Then we’ll share some fun exercises to bring the group together, out of our heads and fully into our bodies.

We’ll facilitate various exercises in pairs, random clusters, and as a whole group. We’ll be vibing out to sexy music and providing opportunities to free-play with the presented skills. Sensuality will be encouraged, and underwear will stay on. Light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.

At 9:30 pm we will glide to a conclusion, with a departure no later than 10 pm.

Finn Deerhart, Facilitator

Born a minister’s son in the Deep South, Finn grew up in a rigidly religious environment, struggling against the strong social conditioning and problematic relationship templates that queer men have inherited. At age 21, Finn became a trained minister, suppressing his sexuality and living a double life. His eroticism led him through self-deceit, and at last, to a breaking point—a new beginning—that defined his own search for personal truth. Once he left the ministry and stepped “out of the closet,” he painfully accepted that his journey toward wholeness was far from over. In fact, it had just begun. Now Finn believes that within those wounds of rejection, fear, and self-loathing, lies the medicine for our internal healing. It is through our own pain that we will transform ourselves, our communities, and our cultures at large. We will not rid ourselves of pain. But we can use our pain to make better sense of ourselves and the world.

Finn is an AASECT Certified Sexuality Counselor. Through his courses, workshops, retreats, and private sessions, men learn tools to confront their limitations, unravel internal narratives of shame, and spark deeper human connections—grounding themselves into a deeper experience of life. Finn creates educational erotic content and provides on-site erotic coaching for Himeros TV, an online service that provides explicit educational content for queer men. I co-host the weekly Himeros Backstage podcast which can be heard on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts.

Sam Sebastian, Facilitator

Sam Sebastian is a gay cisgender male of Mexican and Venezuelan descent, whose diverse cultural background has profoundly influenced his perspectives and aspirations. Having navigated the challenges of being marginalized in a world entrenched in systems of oppression, Sam is driven by a passionate commitment to disrupting racism, amplifying marginalized voices, and fostering embodied growth. With a keen interest in presence-based massage and bodywork, Sam brings an extensive breadth of experience to his practice, empowering clients and students to cultivate profound self-awareness and presence. His journey through life has instilled in him the importance of slowing down, connecting with nature, actively listening, and using his voice to advocate for justice.

Over 16 years, Sam Sebastian has honed his skills in massage and bodywork, training with renowned teachers in the healing arts. Holding a bachelor's degree in contemplative psychology from Naropa University, he is an Esalen massage teacher, a certified massage therapist, a Hakomi practitioner, and a yoga teacher. Sam's work, informed by various modalities, has evolved into a unique and dynamic body of healing practices. Sam is deeply passionate about supporting men on their journey towards embodiment, guiding them to explore mindfulness, cultivate compassion through loving presence, and establish meaningful connections with themselves and others through the transformative power of presence-based touch. His life's lessons have taught him resilience and a profound understanding of his own strength, which he now shares with others as they embark on their own paths of self-discovery and growth.

Jason Lally, Assistant

Jason discovered his erotic desires at a young age, which conflicted with the moral teachings of the Catholic Church he grew up in. He felt compelled to suppress his desires and seek forgiveness from a God accessible only through the Church (as they would have one believe). This led to a great deal of suffering. However, with time, Jason embraced his truth in his early twenties - that he was a gay man and that there was nothing wrong with that. As his family accepted and supported him, love became the healing force that allowed him to thrive. Since then, Jason has embarked on a journey to understand the power of love and explore its true essence. He believes in the possibility of experiencing love as dynamic and alive without conditions. However, this requires effort to overcome societal conditioning and embrace new, more beneficial perspectives on love.

For the past 14 years, Jason has been on a quest to align his heart, mind, and body. He started by practicing nude Asanas in a community of supportive men, experimented with Neo-tantric techniques, and developed a spiritual practice rooted in classical and Neo-Tantra practices. Jason will soon complete his Tantra Coach certification with Tantra4GayMen, an international organization that creates safe spaces for men who love men to explore the connection between sex, spirituality, and love through Tantra.
